About Dandeli
Dandeli is a small town situated on the banks of river Kali in western ghat region of Karnataka State in India. In 2007 its designated as Kali Tiger Reserve, in order to save wildlife in western ghats. In August 2011, Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (WGEEP) designated entire Western Ghat as an Ecologically Sensitive Area (ESA). Its a hub for many animals like tigers, leopards, black panthers, elephants, gaur, deer, bears, porcupine, monkeys, and antelopes. Dandeli forest is home to many reptiles and more than 450 birds species. There are many medicinal plants and trees are available in Anshi Natural Park, Dandeli. The moment of animals and some reptiles make the soil fertile and develop an evergreen belt of trees and plants which make Dandeli a hot spot for tourist to do trekking, night camping, rafting, boating, kayaking, river crossing and other adventure activities. Many sightseeing locations like Syntheri Rock, Crocodile Park, Nagoda Backwater, Eco park, Ullavi Temple too are available to visit for the tourist to enjoy their holidays with family and friends.
